Mark Twain Hotel Peoria Reviews
"Cozy, boutique hotel" Jul 23, 2011
If you want to spend time in downtown Peoria for a convention, wedding or pleasure this is a great place. Free airport pickups if you need it, and free parking on premises.
A hotel with a European feel to it. Wood trimmed library and leather chairs to snuggle up to in the ground level lobby make it a very appealing first view.
Check in was very easy and we went up to our 8th floor room overlooking the river. The room was very comfortably furnished with wood slat blinds, and a work desk area with adjustable chair. Flat screen 32" TV with DVD player, on top of a dresser. A refrigerator and microwave are included which was great for leftovers. 2 queen size beds and a comfy chair round out the room. (Only thing which would have been good now, was if it reclined )
Bathroom was well laid out with a walk in shower, sorry folks but no tub to soak in this room, Even 2 plush terry robes for our use.
They have a restaurant / bar which serves a full breakfast buffet. (included in our room package) An omelet station, with other hot offerings such as french toast, eggs, bacon , sausage. Also everything which would be included in any continental breakfast.
We also received bar coupons for 2 drinks, per person per day. (wine or soft drinks)
Parking is located behind the hotel, but in this case, was back to back with another office so no "bad vibes" Well lit, and you can enter the lobby from the parking lot thru a back entrance:( note- stairs here to lobby) As a security, the back doors are locked after midnight, so you need your key to access.
Our visit of 4 nights was very enjoyable. We opted for the package plan which included the breakfast and bar drinks. Also puts you in a nice room on a higher floor. The people of Peoria very friendly and staff at the Mark Twain gracious.
