Maritim Parkhotel

Everything about this hotel is pretty much a 4 out of 5. I got enough satisfaction out of it, considering there isn't that much to do around the Mannheim area anyway. You get an incredible view of the surrounding area depending on which side of the building you're situated in. If you're unlucky like me, you see another building staring you in the face.

The hotel itself is very outdated, and you can sense it the minute you set foot through the door. It's not really my kind of style. For the price that you pay (100 Euros a night), you would expect a more upbeat and urban style hotel... but it is Germany after all.

The staff was adequate with getting our things to our rooms and accomodating us, but the one thing I couldn't stand was that the maids would always knock really hard at 7 in the morning for room cleaning. After I told them we weren't ready, they came back 5 minutes later and did the same thing. I mean... I appreciate them for doing their job, but it got really annoying.

Once again, the double bedroom was very well kept. The beds were smaller than I expected though, because they basically pushed two single beds together and just went with that. The bathroom is a bit small as well, especially the shower.

They have a full dining room, pool, spa, and steam room in the basement. I wouldn't recommend eating here though, since there are nicer restaurants around the area along with bars and marketplaces around the area. I would rank it above most other hotels in Germany from what I've seen passing through, but overall it gets a decent score from me.
