Maritim Jolie Ville Royal Peninsula Hotel & Resort Sharm El Sheikh Reviews
Great for relaxing break and sunshine Jul 09, 2011
Although I didn't particulary like Sharm, this hotel was fabulous, we stayed for 2 weeks all inclusive and only paid £500 each including flights. The service is where this hotel really shines. The staff could not do enough for us. If your drink is half full, then someone is right there with another for you. Everyone on the site is really friendly and helpful, cleaning staff, waiters, bar men they were all so lovely. The food was quite varied, with different themes each night. I loved the dessert selection, so much choice. The baklava's were gorgeous. We did both get ill a couple of times which I understand is parr for the course at all inclusive buffet resorts. The doctor on site was very good and cheap too.
The room was lovely, we got a free upgrade to a superior room, it was large and very clean. The bathroom was huge with twin sinks and the shower was great.
There were a few things that were a bit lacking, the table tennis table was a bit battered and the bats had no rubber left on them. Pool table in a similar condition with really crap cues, and you have to pay to use it!
The swimming pool was fantastic, really large and clean, you can swim all around it, took me around 10-15 mins. There were more than enough sunbeds and they all had umbrellas so no worries for shade seekers.
There is also a shuttle to the hotel beach, this is man-made and I didn't like it. You can't just walk into the sea as its all on different levels. You have to get in via the jetty. Beach bar is not as good as the pool bar, food is not so good and not much choice.
There's a free shuttle bus into Naama Bay which is worth a trip for a spot of shopping and bar hopping.
Regarding trips we did horse riding and quad biking, which we booked from a travel agent in Naama Bay, at least half price of what the rep was charging. The horses didn't seem that well looked after and were skinny, so if you're an animal lover I would avoid it. Quad biking was wicked! Take sunglasses as the dust really gets in your eyes.
To sum it up, the hotel was great and I would go back just to relax and get some sun. However if you like to get out and really see a place, then this is not for you unless you want to book yourself on trips with other tourists going to typical tourist places.
