We arrived at restaurant right on time and we were the only group there so far. Because the restaurant wouldn't take us in an entire group reservation, we had staggered reservations, hoping we'd be at least close to each other. Shortly after we arrived, people started showing up rather quickly. Mark (Travelman727) and Wendy (Travelngirl) arrived almost at the same time as she had run back to her hostel after lunch to change. It was great to have the Belize lovers toget...

GOOD GOD "32" TRAVBUDDIES....10 GUYS AND 21 GIRLS.....2 GIRLS PER EACH GUY.....HAHAHAHA :P :P :P GOOD GOD!!!!! I can feel that there is going to be drama. We were all waiting outside for at least 8 to come to be seated. Joy, Tracy, Sybil, and Jenn each had to reserve a party of 6-8. Unfortunately, one table was going to be outside and the other 2 tables are inside. Jillian, Joy, and Jenn and I were not hungry. We are just seat fillers until others come. Little by little TBs are arriving....

Still trying to download over 500 photos from a weekend of FUN!!!! Yeah...how did that happen? 2-3 Day affairs for these meet-ups?Well last night was FANTASTIC - BUT today will be even better! 34 Travbuddy's RSVP'd and stated they were going to come over to Marina del Rey to have dinner and drinks with the LA Core Crew. Some TBer's are coming up from San Diego and some stayed at my place that came all the way down from Sacramento, San Jose and San Francisco.Today we are getting an early start...

Well everything started out just wonderful... the sun was shining and it was making of a beautiful day. Then I recieved a phone call from one of my employee about some make believe story of how he couldn't come to work today... "great! now i gotta go to work"... so i then get up and get ready. My plans of driving off to LA were put on hold for a bit.. which totally sucks cuz now that i am late a day for the whole meet-up i get to be a day and a half late. so I wonder if it is even worth going...

Well, this was my first meet up. And it happened to be not far from where I live. So that was great. I was a bit nervous at first because I didn't know what to expect! But I knew I would like everyone because everybody seemed so nice online. And they are even better in person!
I didn't make it to the dinner, but I did make it to the after dinner drinking! Which is where all the crazy things happened, well, at least I think a bunch of crazy things occured. I guess from what I experienced.&nb...

As you can probably tell from the other blogs, today was kind of a mess. To start with, the guest of honor that we planned the entire meet for - Ashley from UK - didn't even show up or bother to tell us she wasn't coming in advance! Not that we really need a REASON to have huge ass TB meets, but c'mon have some courtesy, no?? Then there was my poor planning (dang it's hard! Props to ppl who can plan well!) But let me tell my side of the story! The plan was originally to go to Casa Del Mar for ...

Today begins with hanging out with my college friends all day in the OC. We visit Westminster for bun and spring rolls and of course sugar cane juice, yum yum!! End up at South Coast Plaza and once you set me free in that mall, it's hard to leave! Ahh! It's already 5:30 and I have not even visited the new Bloomingdale's yet, sorry TB people I will have to join you after. Finally get a hold of the girlies while I am literally pulling in the valet at Baja Cantina and find out they are not...

The TB forum where this event was planned by pvtjoy can be found by clicking here. (link opens up in a new window)Jen and I were supposed to go to a Volleyball tournament Saturday morning to watch our friends play, but we changed our plans after the CBVA tournament was replaced by an AVP one. We decided to set out a little earlier to LA for our TravBuddy meetup...a good thing with my slight tardiness that day.I picked up Jen around 2:45, a little later than I expected because of ugly traffic ...

"WASHINGTON BOULEVARD - WE LOVE IT - I LOVE L.A."
SATURDAY TRAVBUDDY MEETUP
Saturday evening, May 17, was a manic night in Marina Del Rey, California. At least 35 TravBuddies and friends ate, drank, laughed, posed and partied up and down Washington Blvd. This is my ninth TravBuddy shindig and it’s the first time I’ve had the opportunity to return to the same area.
My previous meetups:
September 2007 - Bunratty, Ireland
December 2007 ...

I was super excited about spending the day on B's friend's boat. I was exhausted from hosting a dinner party the night before, but figured a day lounging on the ocean wouldn't be too taxing. I grabbed some snack foods and met up with B & F and soon we were off to marina del rey. I rarely ever come out to marina del rey - it's not that far and it's really a relaxing, fun place - I guess I just never really think of it ... but after today's lovely experience, I'...

So, it was onto my favorite restaurant in the entire world: Baja Cantina. Jen and James don't see why I heart it so much, but I just think thier Mango Salsa Chicken Enchiladas are amazing. Well, wouldn't you know that those aren't available on the lunch menu. After explaining to the waitress that I'd come all the way to Boston and they were my favorite, they whipped some up for me. Hoo-yah!After lunch of course, we had to walk up to Starbucks, because everyone needs to drink coffee all the ti...
