The largest beach in the world Aug 31, 2011
Marina beach is the longest urban beach in India. This beach is a very popular attraction in Chennai. This place will be very crowded by visitors and locals on holidays and weekends.

Two of the very then popular chief ministers, Anna and MGR, of Tamilnadu were laid to rest after their death here. Huge memorials were built here to remember them. Also there is a musuem with pictures and articles used by MGR is open for people to know more about the leader.

Also very good British time buildings can be seen on the beachside road. Swami vivekananda house is one of the prominent buildings on the road. Sulptures of known local leaders are on the broad walk. Many people will go to this place for morning walk.

There are many activities in and around the beach like Horse riding, Shooting the balloons, Digital pictures with the South Indian heros' pictures. Many food and souvenir stalls are inside the beach.
