Marietta, Georgia is a wealthy suburb of Atlanta, which is located northwest of the city. It’s about a 30 minute drive to Atlanta. Since it’s so close to Atlanta, you get the best of both worlds - large metropolitan area with also a more "homey" environment. Less traffic, easy parking, and access to tons of activities.
Marietta is also home of the Big Chicken. A KFC restaurant that is designed to look like a chicken. It has a functioning beak and eyes that rotate making it a local landmark.

It was after leaving at 6 am to head west, after wasting 4 hours looking for my wallet, I finally came to rest heading home just north of Atlanta. There was a Huge Bike rally there, but I could not have part in it, due to my stupidity.
