If you want to experience a "typical" swedish summer, a cruise is a must. Most swedes have been on a cruise to Finland, and vice-vers. Viking Line and Silja Line are the largest companies and they've got plenty of tours to choose between.

We stayed on a campsite by the beach in Mariehamn, the only town on the Aland Islands. We went on some nice walks along the coastline from the campsite and had a few games of crazy golf.
The islands are very pretty, but the cost of living is so high that we struggled to feed ourselves…
