Margaritas Auckland Bar Reviews

awesome all around bar in auckland Mar 13, 2008
Well, as I spent about 3 nights a week at this place for 5 months of my life, i thought i should write a review. First of all, this place is great because you dont need to wear long pants and shoes like everywhere else. You go in and can go upstairs or downstairs. Upstairs is a chill bar with pool tables and a dj sometimes. Theres big round booths to just hang out with friends. (On the neg. side one of my friends almost got roofied here at the bar, but she caught him.)Downstairs is the club. Theres a bar with a dance floor but also tvs, booths, and pool tables. On tues, wed, and thurs, there are $5 jugs (atleast in fall 07 there was). This is cheap beer for NZ. Theres is also theme nights where they give away free stuff for your costume. And theres free food being grilled outside a lot.

On the downside, fridays and saturdays there is a cover of $5. And the place is filled with an entirely Asian crowd on weekends. Probably great if you're Asian but after going twice and just getting angry looks and feeling uncomfortable, I couldnt do it.

(And they dont serve margaritas)
auckland - margs is in there som...
