Cheap Hostel in Budapest Sep 17, 2008
This was my first time staying in a hostel so i don't have anything to compare it too. The hostel has several different room types to choose from. I chose the room with two twins and a bathroom so my friend and i could have our privacy. The rooms where clean enough and provided the basic necessities. It was located in a decent location and was within waling distance from the Buda side, although we did have to walk a bit. We used one of those tour buses since it stopped near the hostel. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay, this one is pretty good. It even has its own bar/ club downstairs.

Cheap but thats all! Aug 27, 2009
Nice hostel just out of the city centre but youre able to walk to the chainbridge and all the other big sights.. It is a small but neat hostel.. Just don't think you will get much for this amount of money cause the breakfast is really disgusting and the diner is in such a small porportions that youre glad there is a restaurant nearby.. The staff was very friendly and there is a small cafe in the basement, which is also open for normal public.. And has live acts twice a week.. Nice to stay for a couple of days but no longer then needed..

Ideal base for exploring Budapest Oct 13, 2008
This hostel was clean, cheap and safe. The staff are young and laid back, so you have to be fairly self-sufficient. The breakfast is cheap but not great quality, and it's served in the (rather dingy and hot) cellar-bar, so find a cafe or self-cater. It's in a great location.
Every bed has its own, warderobe-sized locker and there is a "mini-safe" system at Reception for valuables, so your stuff is pretty secure. It's worth having an extra form of ID to take with you around the streets (they suggest a driving licence photocard) so you can leave your passport in the minisafe. The showers were superb: hot and powerful. The chief weakness is, predictably, your fellow hostellers, who will smoke in the rooms (they seriously believe that blowing it out of the window means that none gets in), talk to each other in the night, leave drinks cans everywhere and fail to switch off lights. It's a shame because in all other respects there is a good atmosphere. I would definitely stay there again. |
