Manos Morenas Lima Reviews
Tasty Creole Cuisine & show at Manos Morenas Aug 18, 2005
This is a traditional restaurant. They had 3 locations. The main one in Barranco and 2 small ones in the food court of a mall and the food court of the airport. The main one is located in a century-old house with an iron gate. They have tables scattered around the front porch that are so inviting. The warmly lighted dining is very cozy and there are women in colorful headwraps serving tasty Peruvian food.
They are specialized in Creole Cuisine known as Comida Criolla. You can taste the different dishes and desserts here. If you are in a group, I highly recommend you to get one of the big appetizers, so you can try different dishes. Here is the place where I tried "sangrecita" for first time ever and loved it!!!
Save some room for the dessert and get the home made picarones. So tasty!!!
If you really want a Peruvian experience get some chicha morada (corn purple soft drink) to drink. Besides toasting first with the Pisco sour.
But this place is not just about the food, on Fri and Sat they have a dance show. Showing dances from the different regions of the country. So you can admire it, while you are enjoying a nice meal.
After the show, the dancers would even ask you to join them, so much fun!
This is a nice option to do something different in Lima if you are around during the weekend. It ends early around midnight, so you'll have chance to go dancing if you'd like to do it.
One tip: Reservations are highly recommended ;)
