Manoluck Hotel Luang Prabang

This hotel is among the best we stayed in on our South-East Asia Tour.

The staff was accommodating & helpful in every way. The building was built in the local style of architecture with rich lacquered wood finish.The rooms were large, the bathrooms clean and complete and the beds comfortable.

However, although I don't normally do negative reviews, the Manoluck had two problems 1. It is a bit out of town - not beyond walking distance except at night - but transport is cheap and plentiful. 2. The rooms are arrayed around an atrium that is open to the outdoors and next door to the hotel was a small farm which had a rooster with a testosterone problem. I swear he started crowing at 2:00am (just before I went to bed)and his voice reverberated through the atrium. The staff kindly moved us to the most distant room but the sound carried. My recommendation rooster 3 stars, no rooster 5 stars!
