No doubt the best location to Borobudur.. food is better than expected.. over all, must stay here because of location.. Jul 22, 2013
I took air aisa from KUL to JOG and arrived at about 16:30.. I asked pick up service from hotel.. the journey to hotel was longer than I excpected.. we arrived hotel kind of late.. so we decided to have dinner in the restaurant of hotel, which had no good reputation of food.. surprisingly, the food and performance is second thing I enjoyed most in this hotel..

Most of staff were friendly and helpful.. on the other hand, some staff were showing impatient attitude..

As for accommodation, the environment of hotel are relaxing with local feeling.. however, the room is really just ok.. if not for its location, the value is totally not worth..

To sum up, considering the main point of being there due to Borobudur.. I would say, this hotel is must stay one if you wants to enjoy Borobudur the most..

Wonderful Hotel adjacent to Borrabadur Temple. Jul 17, 2013
I will be writing about this amazing temple,Borabadur, and when you visit this site,it is really worth staying five minutes walk away,at the Manohara Hotel.

The hotel is single story so as not to impact on the temple, and each room has a small "porch" area overlooking the gardens.

When staying here, there is entry fee included in the hotel rate, and you are able to access the temple long after the "day tours" have left.

Borabadur is the largest Buddhist Temple in the world.

Although the room is not large,it is very comfortable, with air conditioning and fridge, and on the porch sits a stainless steel clothes drying rack

Breakfast was good with mainly Indonesian food, and the restaurant for dinner is in a large grass roofed room open on four sides.Dinner was excellent.

The hotel will organize a car and driver to take you to Dieng Plateau, which is well worth a day trip.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights and would highly recommend The Manohara Hotel !!

The nearest to Borobudur Jul 25, 2012
Stayed here in Jun 2012.

Manohara Hotel, previously was a guest house for the Borobudur Research Centre, is rather the best option if you want to spend all your time with Candi Borobudur. I and my friend wanted to be in the park all our time, so we booked and stayed here. We were very happy with that decision.

The room price includes the entrance fee to Borobudur (Rp150,000 as of Jun2012). When you deduct that (2 persons) from the room price, it becomes a well worth stay. On top, the hotel is within the park, 5 mins walk from the room and you can actually see the temple from the restaurant, making it so pleasant to stay because when we dined, we had the perfect view. The food in the restaurant is not expensive, is almost the same price as outside, so we ended up eating here for the 3 days we were there. Their fried fish is excellent. We also enjoyed sitting at our room backyard and watching the padi field right in front of us.

Another advantages to stay here is the sunrise tour. We started off at 4.30am, so it is good to be just there and sunrise tour is the only time the temple is Not Full of tourists, only time for some quiet time.

Manohara Hotel Jun 18, 2010
Our booked our hotel at Manohara, which is the best decision we made!

Mark recommended this hotel as this is just at the opposite of the Borubudor Temple. It is the only hotel that is located inside of the Borobudur Archaeological Park It may be more expensive than the other hotels in Yogyakarta, but at least we don't need to pay another van to take us to the temple and we'll get a VIP pass to the temple before sunrise! A very good deal indeed.

The vicinity is very quiet and I guess it is not allowed to be too loud here as it is near the temple. You can hear the chants of the Buddhist monks but it adds up magic to the ambience :)

The hotel is like retreat houses, the rooms are big and clean, and the receptionists and staff are very accomodating and helpful.

The food is also good and not cheap but it's ok. We had good breakfast and they assist us on going to Mount Merapi.

Just be warned that there is no alcohol and they close their restaurant at 10pm :P
