The perfect way to see Sydney Harbour on the cheap Jan 30, 2009
The Manly ferry is one of the best ways to see Sydney Harbour. Why fork out $100 for a cruise, when you can do the same on public transport for only $12.50 for an adult return ticket? The 30 minute ferry trip starts at circular quay and gives the best views of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House, plus the outer harbour. You then land at Manly, a beautiful beach on the north shore, where you can swim, walk or just have a coffee while waiting for the return ferry ride. A great way to see Sydney and appreciate just why it is considered to be one of the most beautiful harbours in the world.

This sounds so cool. I wish I had done it when I was in Sydney. I guess I'll just have to do it the next time I'm there.

Great Cruise on the ferries ! Sep 12, 2009
For my first outing in Sydney, I decided to go to Manly to enjoy the beach... and a cheap cruise on Sydney Harbour !

Why not Bondi, which is the most famous here ? I just really prefer 30 min in a ferry around Sydney Harbour, with a magnificient scenery, than 45 min in a bus.

The trip to Manly is great and I highly recommend anybody coming to Sydney to plan a outing in one of the ferries. There are many of them, one is going to Taronga Zoo for example.
The view of the harbour and the city is unique and splendid. We spent few hours on the beach and came back for sunset... So wonderful...

For around 10$ return only ! It is affordable and way less expensive than a cruise !

5 hours, so after that and some lunch, I decided to take the Manly Ferry and go explore one of the beaches.  That sounds a little odd - maybe I should just say that I took the Ferry to Manly!  Anyway, it's a gorgeous little beach town.  I've included some pictures I took from… An incredible day!

On Sunday we decided to take the ferry to Manly. I'd wondered what distinguished a Manly ferry from a more Effeminate one, but that puzzlement took a back seat to my concern over whether or not this would be a bumpy ride. I'm prone to seasickness, and the ferry to Robben… Manly Pursuits

To get to Manly from the city, you just need to head to Circular Quay to one of the famous Manly Ferries for a half hour ride across the beautiful Sydney Harbour. These photos are from a day I took my brother for a day. The weather was wonderful and once at Manly there was a man making a dragon sand (castle?). … Manly Beach
