Manila Zoo Reviews
Manila Zoo Mar 12, 2009
Ive been to zoos in the US. Some were very bad.Desert zoos & city zoos.
The Manila zoo is ok, not very well kept and some of the animals are kept in bad conditions (the monkeys and the orangatan). The elephant is lonely. The "Kinder Zoo" is ok, I got to hold a crocadile, two Boas and had Cockatiles on my arm & head. All in all the zoo is just ok, PETA would have a fit. The admission was 40 PHP for adults & 20 PHP for children (around $1 & 50 cents. Depending on exchange rate) |

Better then it's rumor! May 06, 2008
I have to say that before my trip I had heard a lot of crab about Manila ZOO. Which is also why I did not go there during my first stay in Manila. But this time I had to come up with something new and I was also a bit courious as to wheater the rumors were true.
No doubt about it - this is not Singapore ZOO, but it's not as bad as the rumor tells either. I've seen crappier zoo's before. I admit...the conditions of some of the animals could be better, the oxes could have cleaner soroundings and the elephant should have a mate, but in general the conditions were good and most animals seem to be doing good. Especially the tigers were very active when I was there, and that is definately a good sign. Besides tigers, elephants, and oxes - the zoo has a big collection of birds, crocodiles, a hipo and other interesting animals in a very beautyfull park. In short - it's a lot better then it's rumor. Manila Zoo is the worst zoo I've ever been to but at the same time the best zoo I've ever been to, as you can get REALLY CLOSE to all the animals as you will see from the pictures! It needs a bit of a revamp… Manila 2 |

As a child, I went to Manila for field trips to the zoo and planetarium, Cultural Center of the Philippines, Manila Bay and few visits to my aunt who works in the Supreme Court of the Philippines. On my highschool years, it would be about visits to museums and other places for school requirements, and additionally those… Turning Maria Clara into a vixen |
