Mango's Reviews

Mangos has long been a favorite of people in Fort Lauderdale. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is good, and they have live music most nights of the week. It is located on Las Olas Boulevard in downtown Fort Lauderdale and is almost always busy but is well worth the wait! It is a large restaurant and there are indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. Starters cost (in USD) around $8-15, mains $18-30, drinks $4-10. This is where the venue of the Fort Lauderdale TravBuddy meet-up took place and 4 out of 6 of us ordered the Seafood Fettucini, which was soooooo delicious! I have also had the prime rib, NY strip steak, ahi tuna salad, and mahi mahi - all of which were great.
The dress is nice casual and no shorts are allowed (or so the sign says). There is a metered parking lot just behind Mangos and a car park garage just down the street. Part of the Fort Lauderdale, FL USA travel blog

I had lunch here during my visit in Fort Lauderdale. The Sun Trolley driver recommended it and said that everyone raves about it. So I went. I met with a guy from Meetup.com, he was running quite a bit late so I had time to chat with my waiter. I sat outside on their patio so I also got to do a lot of people watching, which is pretty entertaining to see that kind of people walk, bike and drive past.
Once Mark got there, I finally ordered, I was so hungry. Andrew, our waiter brought out my Slightly Seared Ahi Tuna Salad. After Jo raved about hers I had to try it at least once while in Florida right? It was so yummy. The tuna was perfect and the salad was not overly coated in dressing. It was just right. It was great for a light lunch since I had some sight seeing to do. I didn't realize how wonderful it was inside because I never even stepped in. The hostess greeted me at the door when I arrived, at which time I requested an outside table. The inside of this place was wonderful as well. They had a dance floor in front of the bar, and I could just imagine how the place gets hoping at night. This is a must if you visit the restaurants in Las Olas. And if you do, tell Andrew I said "Hello!" Part of the South Florida and the Heat... yikes! travel blog |
