Mandarin Oriental Reviews
Mandarin Oriental Dec 03, 2008
My experience of stay in this hotel was a lousy one. I find it difficult to understand why I didn't get a good service knowing that Mandarin Oriental is a 5-star hotel. There was a strange subjective feeling I had that I was treated differently for being a 'local'. It might sound too strong, but one thing was sure, I was not just imagining things. Afterall, it is my beloved hometown. I would hate to feel unwelcome.
For some strange reasons, it took a little time for me to check-in. When I got in the room, i noticed it was tidy, just ordinary, nothing special really. But I found that the paintings hanging on the wall was dusty, like the room was cleaned in a rush. Then there was a problem with the TV reception. At that point, the only nice thing I could see was the view of Makati skyline. That helps a bit. The location of the hotel was not really strategic to say the least. I had to hail a cab everytime I would go to interconnecting malls nearby. I told myself I will not stay there anymore. Just one bad experience is enough for me. On second thoughts and in all fairness, maybe it was just me. You know, when bad things happen to good people (haha!). Or it could also be one bad luck in a thousand. |
