Nice place to stay Mar 20, 2011
I spent just 3 nights in KL. Arrived at night with the pick up car from the hotel. I sat inside the car and take a look at KL by night. It is beautiful. U can see the Petronas Tower from very far, outside the city center.

I stayed in a hotel right next to the Twin tower, name Mandarin Oriental. The hotel is a mixture of muslim style, chinese style and modern style. The hall caused a big impression for me when I first stepped through the door. It looks huge with high ceiling and a big piano for live music.

I imagined that I could see the tower from my room. But I was so wrong. The girl led us to our room and I took a quick glance to the window. There was no light form the tower. I asked the girl, disappointedly, that they had no more room left which gives a direct look to the tower. She said no and told the room we were staying has a better view: “you can see the central park from here, miss. Its very beautiful, u will see it in the morning. Theres nothing to see in the Petronas Tower. It looks much better if u look at it from far away, not too close like this”. She was right. The park is absolutely great.

The hotel bar is a quiet and elegant place. nice decoration, nice staff. U can see some of them wear chinese dress, some wear muslim dress and some wear suit. Nice combination.

Theres a way from inside the hotel leads direct to inside the Petronas Tower, a big building mainly for shopping with international foods. I didn’t enjoy the malaysian food since I prefer salty foods. They have Starbuck, Mc Donald’s and Burger King there. We don’t have those in Vietnam. In KL, you can sit in front of the shop, which is a part of the pavement, enjoy ur coffee, watch the traffic and the people walk pass by. Everything is tidy.

We spent the evening in a Sky Bar, located on the 33rd floor of Traders Hotel. The hotel recommended it to us because its near our hotel (5 mins walking) and it’s the most famous bar in KL. It has a breath-taking view to the beautiful Petronas Tower. Nice places which have best views always fully booked. A very luxury and expensive bar. But its nice for who would love to sit there and look down to the streets and look at the towers. No wonder why its popular in KL.

KL is a city, where all the Chinese, Indian and Malaysian live together. With Muslim and Buddhist. Everything in town is mixed with that. Include the construction. A nice town for shopping too =)

Luxury in the heart of downtown Kuala Lumpur Apr 02, 2011
Superbly located in Kuala Lumpur City Centre next to Petronas Twin Towers. To the right of the hotel's main entrance was KLCC Mall and KLCC LRT station was about 10 minute walk away.

The room was fantastic and I loved the pool the most which was overlooking KLCC Park.

Verdict: Brilliant luxury hotel, highly recommended for business and family travelers.

The perfect oasis in the middle of the bustling city Dec 10, 2011
The Mandarin Oriental lives up to your expectations. Quick check-in, very friendly staff, prompt service, superb rooms. It is right in the middle of where all the action is! Affordable cabs available near the hotel, and the Petronas Towers are very close as well. There is a shopping centre right next door.

We stayed here in April 2011 and spent our days exploring the city. Evenings were spent mostly at The Library, a gastro-pub across from the main road. Loved the vibrancy of the place (their 'personal beer taps' are a hit with beer lovers!). Some evenings we would just walk around the area, find a local open air market of sorts, with stalls selling loads of yummy freshly prepared food (satays, laksa, etc) and fresh fruit (mangosteen, rose apple, rambutan, langsat, etc) that we would bring back to the hotel for a late-night snack.

The buffet breakfast was very good, room service prompt (and meals absolutely fantastic!). The staff is very helpful if you want to arrange for a proper tour into the city or just a quick ride to a place of interest such as the Batu Caves.

All in all, the Mandarin Oriental is the perfect place for those last few days of relaxation after you're done trotting around the country.

Luxury in KLCC Mar 04, 2011
This hotel is awesome. The service is 5 star & the restaurants are great, you have many to choose from, 1) Biba's Cafe - which is buffet style and excellent variety of food, sometimes they do theme weeks which vary from arabian to international. 2) Cascade Restaurant - which is more Alfresco dining by the pool, it has a beautiful view of KLCC 3) Lai Po Heen - which is a chinese restaurant upstairs in the hotel, great food & great dim sum & chinese tea...4) Sultan Lounge - for night entertainment, DJ & where the chic peeps of KLCC hang out.....The rooms are very comfortable.

Excellent Hotel Aug 05, 2008
We have stayed at this hotel twice now and I love it there. It is next to a very good shopping mall, which is best to visit in August as the sales are on.

The hotel overlooks the park and has terrific views.

Breakfast is also excellent as are the rooms.

I would have enjoyed to get more details about the room as I'm pretty familiar with the location of the hotel. And how was the service? Have you stayed at any other KL hotels and how does the Oriental compare with them?
