Manaus Vacation Guide
Manaus is huge (more than 1.5 million inhabitans), steamy city in the middle of Amazonia. It lies near meeting Rio Negro (Black River) and Rio Amazonas.
The road to south were dismissed because of deforestation so you can access it by airplane or by boat (from Peru-Iquitos (West) - 6 days, Porto Velho - (South) - 5 dayes, Macapa/Santarem (East) - 2/4 days). This river travelling is unique local culture and if you speak spanish/portugese you should definetly try it :)
Jungle around the town is easilly accessable with planty of travell agencies or guides, but be aware of scams.
