One of the greattest things in Iquitos Feb 05, 2012
This is a place were they rescue manatees, some people keep them as pets and wait for them to grow so they can eat them. Mostly they don't even survive, because people doesn't know how to feed them or treat them.

In this place you can learn more about them (Spanish and English) and even feed them with a bottle of milk. Is a unique experience in my point of view.

If you have enough time you can even be a volunteer there, is totally worth it. I did and was a lifetime experience.

It is free but you can make a donation, i really recommend that because they receive support from the Dallas World Aquarium, and sometimes things are not enough.

If you take a mototaxi from the main square, is going to cost you around 10 soles, be careful, sometimes the mototaxis drivers want to take advance so they can try to charge you more or even say 10 soles and when you arrive they would say 10 soles per person, that's not true so don't let them trick you.
