I had the great pleasure this past June to visit five tiny sea side villages known as the Cinque Terre. The Cinque Terre were home to some of the most amazing views, rocky beaches, miles of trails, and wonderful people. I think I could live here!

Our next stop. We did not wanted to stay that long, because we were already run out of time. So, a quick walk, enjoying this colorfull piazza and went back to the train again. We decided to skip Nervazza, which was more of the same, we believed. If anyone of you can prove that we were wrong, p…

Here I'm displaying some pictures of my vacations in Italy. We were visiting Italy from 1998 until 2007 or so. Every summer we were traveling to another part of the country. As you will see, the photo's include some sight-seeing pictures most of the time. I'm sorry for the bad quality and the messy content!

Cinque Terre, Italy 2007: Manarola Travel Photos

While attending the Andrews University MSA program at Villa Aurora, Florence, Italy almost all students went on a one day trip to the coast visiting the five villages called Cinque Terra. It is a very nice place where you can hike from village to village or take the train from one village to the next. The "best" village I thought was Vernazza but if you are into the beach, you should go directly to the last village Monterosso.

Quaint little Manarola, with it's colourful and vibrant road leading to the seaside, has an even more serene feel to it than Riomaggiore. Although there is no traditional beach here, there is a beautiful harbour area that had the best water for swimming and generally splashing around out of all the…

From Pisa 2 Cinque terre 2 Siena 2 Assisi 2 Amalfi Coast 2 Sicily all in 9 days. The Italian drivers are crazy!!! Overtaking on a blind corner on a cliff edge of a narrow rd with a bus coming for you in the other lane at 130km. Not us! but this is what your ordinary driver in Italy seems to do and all of them have bumps and scratches on their cars!!! So we are home safe and well. Highlight of trip: seeing a live active volcano check out the photos!!!

This is my 3rd time to Cinque Terre (meaning 5 Lands). And each time, it gets more beautiful - if it's possible. There's plenty to do, with hiking the trails to each village, taking the train, swimming (even nude), or exploring the villages and experiencing it all.
