Church of the Holy Cross, Manapad, India
The august sunset at Manapad Sep 03, 2013
Manapad bay,The church of the Pope and the King,The coast of Tuticorin were reviews or blogs which I had written earlier and visiting this place again, with my family friends this august, did inspire me to type a few words about this wonderful place which I would say is the gem on the sea coast of Tuticorin. This place is around 52 kms by road from Tuticorin towards Kanyakumari and about 70 kms from it.
I had watched the sun rise from the sea at the bay of Manapad all times during the year but sunset during Augusy was one I had not experienced.Sitting on the sand dune above the cave of St.Francis Xavier or may be at the steps of the church of the Holy Cross, being the vantage points,a one hour watch over the sun set, with the cool breeze on your face was and is truly a fascinating artistic journey through your mind and a photographers dream come true.
Even though you may not have shops, inns, stays, restuarants or anything to do with tourism connected with this place, the sand dunes, cave, Churches, old tiled houses in Portuguese style, Bay, estuary, and the sunset nolds so much interest and will enthrall you when you get to visit this place.Once there you will not,nor wish to forget the best moments of nature and history this hidden treasure holds though yet unknown to the world.
