Paris, France -› Orly, France -› …
So I feel as I've been held captive for the last couple of days on this sleepy island. Whiling away my time between cigarettes on the balcony and trying to steal wifi from across the bay. Short of suspending myself from a rope, I've literally done anything and everything to get online! So today the …

Valletta, Malta -› Marsaxlokk, Malta -› …
I press snooze a couple of times, interrupted sleep, again. I am up by 8:45, anyway. It's partly cloudy, a few of then even black and windy. Annie tells me to take a jacket. She insists. I have my breakfast quickly. I only have until 1pm. My flight is at 3pm.
My first stop is St. John's Co-Cathedr…

Valletta, Malta -› Saint Julians, Malta -› …
When Grand Master Jean Parisot de la Valette laid the foundation Stone of Hamulissima Civitas Valletae, the last thing that he had in mind was a city of fine palaces.
Valletta was intended to protect the two harbours on either side of the rocky peninsula on which it was to be built.

We arrived
at Malta. The first impression already from the own airplane in
flight is fantastic. A earth very populated, many cities, much coastal town.
Many churches, that is the constant in this country, churches, great churches,
many cupolas. The airport
of Luga is modern,
functional, but …

Gozo, Malta -› Cirkewwa, Malta -› …
I said a fond farewell, to Gozo, a place that surprised me with it's treasures natural and manmade. I hope to see you again soon!
I board the ferry, taking in a few final shots of Mgarr and the harbor. The channel crossing was uneventful even with quite a chop on the water. The sun was high and br…

To describe Malta in one sentence I might say - Malta is a museum under open air!
The island is full of religion, great historical monuments, beautiful nature and delicious food and wine!
During one week I saw the entire island and sailed to Gozo island for few days.
It was a week before Easter. So much religion I’ve never seen or felt before anywhere else…

With Ryanair tickets to Malta only £40 I decided to go to Malta with A for a long weekend. Perfect timing considering winter had just descended on the UK and Malta was still enjoying the end of the Mediterranean summer.

It was a very bumpy plane ride on my way to Malta. I felt like a scene from a TV show called ‘Fantasy Island’. I didn’t know this country exist until the day I read an article about how many countries in this world under British colonization before. Malta is one of them and when I looked up t…

Malta is a small archipelago comprising just 3 inhabited islands and a handful of uninhabited rocks some 80 kms south of Sicily in the Mediterranean sea. My transit time to reach there directly from Australia was an exhausting 40 hours and on arrival I was greeted by a scorching 42 degrees celcius …

Malta was pleasant for one week as the island is small. One of the main attraction is the churches. The buses are a fun experience and cheap. Don't go to Malta for beaches despite water is crystal clear, a lot of them are rocky and small. Gozo has nicer beaches.

Malta is a great island with lots of different infuence of other cultures.
We have only explored the island of Malta. Due to a couple of days of bad luck we couldn't go to the smaller islands Gozo and Comino.
