Malmesbury Vacation Guide

Malmesbury is a small, pleasant town near Cirencester and the southern edge of the Cotswolds. It is notable mainly for the remains of the 12th Century Abbey, although all that is left is a large, attractive church. The church has a stained window by William Morris and COmpany, although it was made in 1901, well after WIlliam Morris's death. The town itself has held onto some independent bakers and butchers.

An island of picture perfect beaches, lush green gorges and Wonderful people. 2 weeks were spent during "winter" at an all inclusive resort in Cap Malheureux. Ok it rained for 5 of the 15 days, but it was winter!. The beaches are clean and in many areas very quiet, although we did find it hard to drag ourselfs away from the beach opposite the hotel (Coin De mire), which had nice snorkelling not too far offshore. All areas of the island are visitable for day trips and its worth exploring.
