Malealea Vacation Guide
Malealea is a small and traditional Basotho village of approximately 400 people in Southern Lesotho. Many members of the village are Roman Catholic and raise cattle and sheep. Approximately 7 km from paved roads the village is close enough to civilization to be accessible, but far enough away to maintain its traditional ways.
The main tourist attraction in Malealea is pony-trekking on rides that can last from a few hours to six days. Treks are organized by the Malealea Lodge which is also the only place in the village that provides accomdations.
