Tasty Malaysian cooking Jan 12, 2009
On my last night in Amsterdam I joined my friends to dinner at the Malaysian Restaurant on Zeedijk, a closer location from my hotel. Typical of most businesses in the red light district the space is small but well arranged to accommodate at least 20 people. I ordered a typical Malaysian curry with chicken and vegtables cooked in coconut sauce. This was served with steamed rice - almost like the Thai sticky rice.
Our server was also the restaurant manager who was pleasant and efficient in taking the orders. What I particularly did not like about his resataurant is that the toilet was right by the Kitchen area in a place so squeezed that I felt I would fall down the narrow stairs next to the toilet door. It is on the pricey side too, but then again it is a speciality reastaurant in Europe. I guess I'm used to American restaurants maintaining a reasonable pricing speciality or otherwise, lol! That aside, you should try the chicken coconut curry, very tasty. |
