Malang Vacation Guide
Malang is small town located about 45 miles south of Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. Malang is known for ancient Hindu temples, beautiful mountain ranges, and its wealth in nature and vegetation.
Malang is known for its crispy, fresh apples (Malang apples) and its cool temperature (23-25 degree Celcius). Probably the only place in Indonesia whose elevation hidh enough to grow apples. The town has apple plantations open for visitors. Malang is also a host of many beautiful flowers, especially orchids.
The famous Mt. Bromo is located near Malang and is never shy of visitors/climbers. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking. While Mt. Kawi is another beautiful mountain region, Mt. Arjuna has great hillsides where resorts and hot springs are located. The mountain areas, needless to say, give a special fresh, cool feelings you hardly get in other places in Indonesia.

Another social activity trip, July 2006, we went to Batu Malang, East Java. We stayed at Purnama Hotel, Batu, a quiet and beautiful place at the hill, with a mountain view. Then we went to Tlekung Village to help the local people do the piping as summer got too long and the village had a water shortage.
