Makarska is a small town on the Adriatic coastline of Croatia, about 60 km southeast of Split. City is located at the foot of the Biokovo Mountain. Biokovo is the highest mountain on the Croatian coast. For its natural sights, in 1981 the Biokovo Mountain was declared a protected national park. Center of Makarska is an old town with narrow stone-paved streets.
