Makaibari Tea Plantation
Makaibari Tea Plantation Kurseong Reviews
Makaibari Tea Plantation Oct 05, 2010
Makaibari Tea Plantation is a tea garden in Kurseong. You can visit for free.
It is really beautiful, because it is organic. So instead of having fertiliser, there are shade plants and yellow bushes that fix nitrogen in the soil. Instead of weedkiller, local people pick the weeds for animal fodder. The gardens are colourful and full of birds and lizards.
The tea is excellent. Sold to Tazo in the USA and a few department stores in the UK, the tea is organic and tastes great. The machines are all very interesting, and look ancient. It was great to see how tea is made and learn the differences between green and black tea.
I would really recommend a visit.
