Loved it...we will be back! May 28, 2017
We stayed here for 4 nights over Memorial Day weekend, on a long overdue couples' anniversary vacation with our good friends. We purposely selected the adults-only Elegance Club, so as not to have any interruptions or kill the romantic vibe.

Located about 25 minutes from Punta Cana airport, we were impressed with the "majestic elegance" of the property as soon as we arrived. We were greeted at the large open-air lobby by the resort personnel who immediately took and tagged our bags, and then escorted us to the private check-in lounge reserved for Elegance Club guests. There was plenty of bubbly, wine, and soft drinks on ice, as well as an assortment of cocktail sandwiches and sweet bites - we were able to sit and enjoy the refreshments at our leisure while the staff took care of the administrative tasks. Once finished, we were introduced to our assigned butler, Santiago and he escorted us to our suite. He was super friendly and his excitement was infectious...along the way he pointed out various areas of interests and made sure we knew where all of the restaurants, theater, spa, and gym were located.

Our Elegance Club jr. suite was located in building 3, about a 5 min walk from the main building, and less than 5 min to the private pool and beach areas. For a jr suite, the room was pretty large (we were in a corner unit on the 2nd floor), and very well appointed. Huge and comfortable king bed with a pillow menu, large 2-person jacuzzi in the corner, double sinks, plenty of closet and storage space.

Upon arriving to the room, we were pleasantly surprised by the anniversary sash attached to the door, and then when we opened the door, there were balloons and a bottle of champagne waiting for us with a note from the staff. Such a nice touch! Santiago gave us a brief rundown of upcoming evening activities, and let us know his schedule for the remainder of our stay, then left us to get settled. Our bags were delivered to the room a few minutes later, while we were having a glass of bubbly on the balcony.

PROS:

- The butler service made all the difference. Santiago was a FABULOUS butler, and he went out of his way to take care of us. Every time we saw him in passing, he greeted us by name and with an infectious smile, asked if we were enjoying or if we needed anything, and then told us where he could be found. On the 3rd night, he surprised us with a candlelit dinner at Sea and See, and when we returned to the room afterwards, it had been decorated with rose petals and candles, with a bottle of champagne and an anniversary cake with personal note. He also hooked us up with a free hr of hydrotherapy experience at the spa. He was really so nice and attentive – when we go back we will definitely be requesting him!

- Elegance Club section has it’s own pool and beach area, with plenty of Bali beds and palapas to lounge. There is also a bar and clubhouse lounge, or you can have your drinks brought to you while you relax.

- Great selection of restaurants serving various cuisines from Italian to seafood to Japanese to French to Argentinian steakhouse. Asadito (steakhouse) and Sea and See (seafood) were the ones I really enjoyed.

- The live entertainment is NOT to be missed! It’s part of the package, so why would you skip it? We attended the Sunday night beach party, Cirque de Soleil-style circus show, and the Michael Jackson show – ALL of which were fantastic! The talent level is top-notch and definitely exceeded our expectations. The entertainment staff really gets into it, which spills over to the crowd…you can tell they really enjoy their jobs.

- Good sized fitness center with updated cardio and weight training equipment. We were there at around 8am and even though there were about 10 people, it didn’t feel crowded at all and didn’t have to wait for any machines. Cold bottles of water and clean towels provided.

- Nearly all of the staff seem to enjoy their jobs. Everywhere we went, we were greeted with welcoming smiles and friendly, personable service.

CONS:

- The door on the toilet stall is frosted glass and not sealed to the door frame, so you can hear (and smell) everything going on in there. Not really sure about the decision on that design, but you can imagine how that would not be ideal.

- Our AC unit leaked so badly the first night that the dripping woke me up in the middle of the night, and we had to use every towel in the room to soak up the puddle on the floor. After two calls to maintenance the next morning (the first guy didn't really fix it), the problem was solved by the afternoon and we had no further issues. They also came very quickly, so that helped quite a bit.

- Although the spa facility was very beautiful and had great services, it was SO FAR from the rest of the property. Had to walk through a construction zone to get there. While it’s not really a con, it just didn’t seem worth it to me to walk all the way over there unless I was going to be there for a few hours. Also, I called to see if I needed to make an appointment to use our free hour, and was told no. When we arrived at the spa and gave them our voucher, they immediately asked where we obtained the voucher and if we’d made an appointment. When I said no, the staff seemed to get a little testy and huffy, telling us that we should have made one. They also seemed a bit put-out at having to honor the free treatments, so I don’t feel we got the best of their customer service.

Overall, we had a great 4 night stay and the few minor cons were not enough to ruin the experience. I will say this again – SANTIAGO IS THE BEST!!!! If you ever find yourself at the ME, be sure to ask for him. We love all-inclusive resorts and this one is at the top of our list. It was absolutely worth every penny and we will stay here again when were are back in DR (although we may step it up a notch and try the sister property, Majestic Mirage).

All-inclusive elegant resort! Aug 27, 2013
Majestic Elegance is the location in which my friend had her destination wedding. I was one of the bridesmaids and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this all-inclusive resort.

I stayed in the Elegance Club Jr. Suite with Jacuzzi (garden view) for 5 days and 4 nights in June 2012.

First off, there are two Majestic resorts: Majestic Elegance and Majestic Colonial.

Majestic Elegance is the more expensive of the two and more for adults/couples/honeymooners compared to the more family friendly Majestic Colonial.

Within Majestic Elegance, they have the "VIP" section called Elegance Club. This is for 18 years and older only, where you get your own "butler" that will help you with what you may need or answer any questions you may have.

Room: The rooms in the Elegance Clubs exudes elegance - marble floors and a four-poster bed, one of the most comfortable bed I've slept on - with elegantly decorated Bali-styled covers, a jacuzzi, in which you can have the staff prepared for you - every night if you want to! The food and drinks in the minibar are free (with up to 4 bottles of liqueur per stay (ej. Vodka, Whisky, Rum, Baileys), as well, for the first time, and you'll have to pay for any items you want restocked. There is a small sitting area with plasma tv, and the bathroom with multijet showers. A goodie bag with beach towel and a bottle of champagne welcomes you to the room.

You have a choice if you want a garden or pool view/access, or on the upper floors. I had the garden view - less people, more privacy.

Elegance Club area have their own pool, lounge areas with free wifi and mini library with hors d'oeuvres and drinks during non-meal times, and rooftop bars.

The rest of the resort is for everyone. They have over 6 pools and 7 restaurants. My favorites are the Japanese restaurant, 9 Doors, for the habachi and the Argentinian steakhouse, Asadito. There's also Italian, seafood, international buffets, and the area of La Bodeguita del Majestic, which serves late night delight’s including hamburger’s, buffalo wings, soft drinks and beer.

There are 7 bars around the resprt open at varying times, plus an additional 4 bars only for Elegance Club.

There is performance area with different themes every night.

A gym, spa, and casino is also accessible. Sand and water related sports equipment are free while others require fees.

The resort staff are great and very friendly.

This resort is definitely worth every penny! I highly recommend this resort --- and splurge for the Elegance Club!
