Magic Castle Inn and Suites Kissimmee Reviews
Cheap option for private room Mar 10, 2013
Located on Highway 192 in the resort town of Kissimmee, Magic Castle Inn & Suites is a good place stay, and one of the cheapest options for a private room.
As you get into a taxi or shuttle van, make sure you tell and really emphasize “Magic Castle” to the driver, otherwise they will think “Magic Kingdom”, and take you to the park in Disney World. Also, make sure you have the address of the place, and tell them it’s on Highway 192. You may have to tell them to that it’s near Old Town, but DON’T get dropped there, otherwise you will have a 30 minute walk ahead of you, with luggage.
The place is not easy to find. There is an outside sign, but the building itself, is sort of behind a little shopping center, as it is not visible from the street. You would have to pass the little shopping complex to get to the hotel.
Basically, it is more like a motel, where you have to go outside from reception to the rooms. The staff are nice and helpful.
The rooms are nice, very basic at a cheap price for a private room. Bathrooms are okay, though only the shower and toilet in a separate room from the main sink, which can be a problem for multiple people sharing the same room. That’s mainly due to the noise factor.
And there is breakfast, with cereal and donuts. But the donuts are very stale, not really knowing how long they have been around. It’s okay, but not great overall. The only good thing about it, is that it’s included.
There is a swimming pool, but it was not open when I was there, and does not seemed to be well maintained.
I stayed at this place in 2006 and 2012. The difference between the 2 stays, is that in 2006, there were shuttle buses to the theme parks. But in 2012, it seems like the shuttle buses are no longer running. It did not matter to me much, as it was not ongoing.
Instead, you will have to take a Lynx bus. The stop is about a block away, past the 7-Eleven gas station. The bus to take to Disney World and back, is #56. When coming back, get off in front of the Walgreen’s, across and diagonal from the 7-Eleven gas station.
[NOTE - While I did not stay here in 2013, this review will be attached to the Florida 2013 blog.]
