The Magic Bean is fabulous!  I ate there many times while exploring Quito and would definately recommend it!  Seating outside is the best.

These 2 restaurants are great in the Mariscal area of Quito

Magic Bean is also a hostel, but has a great cafe and serves lovely meals as well as great juices

Mulligans is an Irish sports bar but has the biggest burger i have seen in my life - called the Mulligan Burger! it is a challenga for you to finish it.

I stayed at the Magic Bean Hostal for 3 nights in May 2007. The rate was great! A bed for $10 !!!!! The staff is friendly and very helpful. You also get a delicious breakfast in the morning.

mellemel8 says: This was fixed meal. we had to choose cocovan chicken, grilled chicken, and beef loin. i had the coq au van chicken. it was ok. we were given cheese empanadas to start. it was crispy and not greasy and a chesse, potato, and avocado soup. it was very flavorful, i did care for the avocado garnish....
