So much better out there! May 19, 2011
There are so many better beaches on St. Thomas than this one. It's packed with Tourists and there is nothing to see or do. Go to any other beach than this one.

Emerald Beach by the airport is nice, but the best ones are on the east side of the island like Smith Bay, or Saphire Beach. Magan's just has too many people and it way too expensive. They want $60 per hour to rent a paddle board!

OH-MY-GOSH; this place was voted one of the top ten beaches in the world and this is why! Sep 16, 2010
I have been to St. Thomas about 4 times and couldn't get to Magen's Bay until the last time. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this beach and although I'd like the spend my time and funds going new places, I'd come back here cause it's soooo pretty. It has been listed as one of the top ten beaches in the world and I agree. There's a view from overhead and that also makes a great pic.

The water is clear, if you go mid-week, it's a little less crowded, the sand is perfectly fine, and there are little fish sporactically in the water. We took a driver there and he agreed to come pick us back up at a certain time and he was punctual.

It was such a great beach and it is recommended to anyone visiting St. Thomas/St. John. It is located on the northern side of the island and cabs in St. Thomas are such that where ever you are coming from on the island, there is a flat rate to the beach. Bring food and water or buy it there (but food kiosks are far apart). Bring a book and snorkel equipment. If you have a beach chair, bring it along as picnic tables are sporatically spread along the beach.

Perfection..... May 20, 2008
I got married here in March 2007. I can't say enough good things about this location. It is a typical tourist destination for Cruise Ship Passengers, but don't let this fool you. Enjoy the perfect white sandy beach and crystal clear water. It was probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my life...

It is a beautiful beach I agree, but there are much much better beaches on St. Thomas than Magen's Bay. Try Sapphire it's less crowded and there is snorkeling and it's got a lot more to see around the beach. Plus it's free, and you can get there on the safari buses so it only cost you $2 to get to instead of $12 like Magen's Bay by taxi.
