To see, to know, to be surrounded by this beautiful 'system of darkness'! Metro de Madrid was the most impresive one in the world for few last years, cuz it was growing like crazy, like no other subway system! (for now it stopped...

The Royal Palace of Madrid was our next stop after visiting the Valley of the Fallen. This Royal Palace like many European palaces were adorned with gold, marble, countless of artworks and portraits. One thing that stood out in this royal palace was its vast collection of chandeliers! They were fantastic! I love them so much I took tons of pictures of the various chandeliers we saw as we went from room to room in the palace. There were two rooms that I love the most in the Roya Palace of ...

Dos parejitas (Chema & Pili, Kalipo & Ali) y un soltero (oui, c´est moi) que repetiríamos otro mes inolvidable. Being in Madrid was a bit of a suprise for me but it works out well.  I had believed for the past week or so that my flight to Dublin was in the morning, but it's not, it is actually at night so I have all day here to get things done.  Mostly shopping.  I hate shopping, especially gift shopping, and of course when you go out of town for a vacation like this you have to purchase trinkets for family and friends.  I spent all day mulling each purchase over until finally I fel...

My 12 day recce of Madrid has passed, and I'm back in England for a couple of weeks before moving out there. The London pre-trip holiday lasted longer than anticipated. I got back to Coventry late on the night before the trip and got round to packing at 3am. Quick sleep until 5am, then up and to the airport. Ryanair, East Mids - Madrid, no problem. After a little walk around the airport I found the Madrid Metro, and headed into town. The clear signs, and fast trains quickly br...

While the suburban areas are awash in uniform, concrete apartment buildings, the city center of Madrid Spain is a delightful mix of narrow alleyways, gourmet restaurants, and world famous modern art and Renaissance museums. Everyone arrives in the capital with varied pictures of Madrid Spain in their mind, yet the city always shows you something new, something you missed or hadn't expected. Compared to Barcelo...
