When I looked through the window this morning I saw the blue spotless sky again: Viva Madrid! We left early for breakfast, which we picknicked at the square in front of the Almudena and the Palacio Real. My father turned out to be sick from the worthless diner we had last night, and didn't even finished the walk to the palace. That's what you get with those cheap restaurants... it wasn't a good idea of him to finish my melocoton anyway. My mother and I visited the Palacio Real on our own, and ...

Wow. I have utterly neglected this blog. I have many, many tales to tell and will get to them someday... you know, in between all my days lazying about at cafes and all.... but this story I must tell now. I only hope other girls traveling in Spain hear about my story and heed my advice. Beware of the Lecherous Spanish Old Man... So I love Spain. So much so, that when I go back home... it's only going to be to plan my return. Only I want to make my return as a Spanish Ol...

Madrid, Spain -› -› ...
Couldn't do much today, except packin my bags. I got myself ready and went down to the park with Lucia while Camilla got herself ready for work. It's still an adventure for me to go down to the park, keeping my feet on the bench just cause I'm so afraid of ants.. I know, it's so silly, but I just got this big fobia for these small "animals" like ants, flies and stuff. While watching Lucia I started to talk to Camilla's neighbour, a really talkactive dude. He had two really beautiful daughters...

From Madrid to Tangier

Well my flight from JFK was a little delayed, but not too bad. I arrived in Madrid in the morning and still had a little time until my connecting flight to Tangier. I finally arrived at  Tangier airport, went through customs pretty quickly. After asking a few of the security guards, made my way to the currency exchange window in the airport to change some of my U.S. dollars into Moroccan currency. To my dismay (okay it was more like "what the hell, damn"), it was closed. I arrived the da...

On my second day in Madrid, I already had the city figured out, and since I got a chance to explore the city yesterday, today was about experiencing more of the Spanish culture.  I got my tickets to the bullfight and was really excited. But first, I had the challenge of finding something to eat for lunch during "siesta".   Because of the harsh climate, and the heat "siesta" is observed during which some citizens take a break to cool off. Kids and off from school,...

Madrid trip

On our last day, naturally enough, we went shopping and had lunch.  This is not terribly exciting to read about, but it did mean that I got to take the touristy photo of the bear and the strawberry tree.   And I got a great t-shirt with a red headed woman getting out of bed on it - cooler than it sounds, I promise, and the trip home was uneventful.  We stayed in a hotel near Gatwick airport, which stung us more on a courtesy bus than a cab would have cost!  Break...

I get in the hostel, no one is here, that is weird since TB's account for half of the people staying here lol...
