Madison Museum of Contemporary Art Reviews
Madison MOCA - A little museum with a big museum heart. Jun 18, 2011
I was expecting a larger museum and more gallery space. From the outside you get the impression that this is a larger size museum. but once you are inside and walking around you realize that it is a little museum with a big museum heart.
The first floor had two gallery spaces, the second and third floor each have a single gallery space and then there is the museum store.
The museum was free but donations are accepted. Donation boxes were near the front entrance.
The museum was a great way to spend a weekend afternoon. Sometimes the upper floor is closed for events like weddings and such. I didn't get to see the sculpture garden upstairs because of a local wedding.
Photographs were not allowed of the artwork otherwise I would share some of the pieces. There was a decent collection of work by a variety of artist that are famous, moderately famous and unknown.
