Madame Tussauds Hong Kong Reviews
Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong Dec 07, 2010
This is my first time visiting death people, not in a morgue but in a renowned wax museum. Madame Tussauds Hong Kong is the first and only one Madame Tussauds Museum in Asia. For a price of HKD175 (approx USD23), you get to touch and see your favourite icons from Adolf Hitler to Tiger Woods.
If you are flying into Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific, print out the discount voucher from their website and show it with your boarding pass at Madame Tussauds ticket counter to get additional HKD20 off.
Madame Tussauds is located at The Peak, so you can take the MTR to Central and take a slow walk to the Tram Station to go up to The Peak.
Madame Tussauds actually disappointed me, the working staffs actually not attentive to their customers.
Of course there were a lot of celebrities, historical heroes and national leaders displayed there but nothing interactive. Walk, take a picture, next you do the same again and by 10 to 15 minutes you’ll get bored doing the same routine. I was hoping to see live wax sculpture or maybe video presentation, but I ended walking two floors clicking on my camera.
For a 30 minutes’ walk in the museum, I think it is not worth for the amount of price paid for the ticket. There is a cathedral (St. John’s Cathedral) nearby the tram station after you come down from The Peak.
It’s the second oldest building in Hong Kong, forget about Madame Tussauds just make a visit to the cathedral.
