Madaba Archeological Museum
Madaba Archeological Museum Reviews
Not too impressive, but the town view is not to be missed Feb 22, 2009
There are 2 museums in the same entrance gate. One is Folk Museum (which I am not impressed as it's not being taken care of and the collection wasn't so great. But at least Fold Museum which has some displays of manequins wearing traditional dresses and costumes, old jeweleries and some broken potteries. From here we knows the history of Christianity and Moslem community in Madaba.
The other museum, is called Archeological Museum and has some old mosaic authentic from Madaba, laying outside and inside. There is a original old traditional Madaba houses with some cellar-like inside with some old mosaic and broken tiles. The highlight of this place is the back yard. They have an elevated patio with some plants and flat wall, from where we can get an extensive view to the town. It was a great view and I was just wondering probably it will be even more beautiful at night when the city lights are on. Part of the Jordan Feb-09 travel blog |
