First of all, happy new year everyone! Hope you had a good time, I know I did. Here's how my new year went. Saturday: Slept until ridiculously late (but hey, I knew I was going to be getting to bed late that night and it was my first weekend off in about 4 months!). One month in China April 24th-May 23rd, towns visited: 3. I am such a shitty backpacker, but I do love Yangshuo.

Ended up visiting Macau instead of passing through thanks to a typhoon that canceled my onward flight to Taipei.

Where do I start?   DAY 1. Off to Macau. We got to the airport a little early (say around 5 am?!), as my very logical father aptly said, traffic is unpredictable. This didn’t dampen our spirit, but an extra sleep would have been nice. But he’s the financer, thy will be done. After the Macau immigration (first of the million) we got to the bus a little late, because my logical father had to pee (he would do this at the most crucial times-he defies the science of sympathetic sphinc...

My 3rd international trip was in China, Macau & Hongkong last 29 April to 2 May 2007.

Summary: 4 weeks 5 countries 12 flights / 60hrs 'in the air' 2 ferries 3 car hire and many more ;) I and a friend of mine went on a trip to Australia and New Zealand. On the way to New Zealand we stopped for a few days in Tokyo, Japan. On our way back to good all Europe we stopped in Hong Kong and Macau.

Kimball was on call ... he asked if he could be called out for a Hong Kong and crew control said "Yes".  He stayed at my hotel and we did a couple of casinos.  While we're not gamblers,  it was still good ... my small loss was compensated by the free tea, juices and water that the casino gives out to its customers. Of course, the most spectacular casino is The Venetian ... with replicas of Venice both on the inside and out.  But the gaming area at Wynn's feels more exclus...

I went to Hongkong, Macau, and Shenzhen to celebrate new year eves there... i personaly love Hongkong so much... really crowded and busy city... love the crowds... i went there in winter but the winter in Macau, Hongkong, and Shenzhen isn't very cold even for me who live in tropical country... the weather was nice not too cold or too hot...definitely will go back to Hongkong one day..

I went to Thailand for my last holiday so here's a report on what I did.   I got up early 'cause I still had a few things I had to do in Macau (like pick up some asthma medication). So, I wandered around there, booked a hotel (the airport one) for the night I got back (cost me $800HK for one night), and the tried to catch a cab from where I was to the airport.   Now, in ZhuHai when I even try to cross the road cabs will come screeching to a halt.
