Mac Nider Art Museum Mason City Reviews
Very Exciting Museum to explore!!! Oct 24, 2009
This is possibly my new favorite art museum!!
It is small in size but the work displayed inside is TOP quality!! I was impressed with the place the moment I walked inside!
The Museum collect American Artwork with its main focus on regional artists such as Thomas Hart Benton, Bob White and Warrington Colescott. However there were plenty of "big name" surprises through out the gallery rooms such as Helen Frankenthaler, Chuck Close and Dale Chiluly. The museum also hosts the largest Bil Baird Puppet collection in the world!!! In my opinion it had one of the most exciting Printmaking collections!
They were simply magnificent! everything was a joy! There were some interactive learning activities for young kids and admission was FREE! Donations of course were accepted.
The individuals working the front desk were very knowledgeable and helpful. They allowed me to photograph only the full rooms but not individual pieces of artwork.
