Meet Locals and Foreigners Every Tuesday and Thursday night in Madrid...for FREE!!! :D Sep 01, 2008
I first heard about this meet up from a friend and it turned out to be the highlight of my trip! The friendly environment makes it easy to chat it up with new people whether you are just on vacation or new to town. For me it also proved useful in finding a temporary roommate for my last week in Madrid.

If you are a clubber at heart, and happen to be traveling solo, you should know that a group from this meet up continues on into the night partying until daylight. (Yes, clubs close at 6 am in Spain. In Madrid you can even find "after clubs" that are open until 12 pm!!!!)

The meetup's organizer is a local Spaniard named David Poza who has been featured on the local t.v. stations numerous times. He is an easy going guy and personal friend of mine. His group, which he has been organizing for over 10 years now, has grown to be hundreds of participants every week, with newbies coming all the time. Despite the popularity of this event, he makes sure to greet every newcomer each week without missing a beat.

Hope this was helpful to you all and trust me, if you decide to go, you will not be disappointed!!! It is also a good way for new expats to find potential roommates or discuss common issues we face living in a new place.

That's David, the organizer, in
