MGM Hotel in Las Vegas Sep 13, 2009
I stayed at the MGM over Labor day weekend in 2009. It is very close to the airport. It is right there on the Strip. The Lobby is nice, rooms are clean, beds comfortable, service is excellent, it has 4 pools and it is a lot of fun!
The food and casino are 8 out of 10 but overall MGM great place to stay. I would stay there again when I return to Vegas! |

Not much to say but a great hotel. Its got everything: cirque du seleil, amazing restaurants, nightclub (Studio 54), lion habitat and tons more. Very fun and trendy place. The regular rooms are well...regular but if you sprint for an upgrade like a room in the West Wing you won't regret it. The beds are so comfy you won't want to get up. The bathroom has bathtub so you can soak after a hard day of partying.

Most overall enjoyable hotel in Vegas Oct 20, 2009
Wow what a great place to not only stay in Vegas, but also eat, gamble, swim, party, an occasional boxing match or other event, shop, drink, and last but not least, Party!!
It was definetly worth the money staying at the MGM grand, there is just a different culture in the place compared to most other places I've stayed at and visited |

Great for your first trip to Vegas May 24, 2009
We stopped here for 5 nights in May 09 for $98 a night (book direct from the website the rates change daily, so you can grad a bargin if you plan it right).
The room was brilliant, a view of the strip from the 17th floor and was kept immaculately clean all stay. Room service was also reasonable. We didn't realise it was Memorial weekend when booking so the Sunday and Monday nights were busy and then a quieter few nights at the end, a good contrast. The pool area is extensive, with several pools including one for adults only and a lazy river with plenty of bars alongside them. Some were a bit posy and are defiantly full of the younger visitor. There is a large casino, which gives free poker lessons (great fun), an endless list of restaurants and a lions enclosure. Part of the The big tour of California (and Vegas) travel blog |

Perfect May 13, 2009
In 2009 we spent 3 nights in this hotel, booked on the internet for just 80$ a night except for the friday it was a 124$. We had a room in the westwing of the hotel it was perfect, big , clean and a amazing view from the 21th floor. The hotel has over 6000 rooms and is one of the biggest in the world. The hotel has lot's of swimming pools, casinio, restaurant and has an connection on to the Las Vegas strip monorail. This hotel is worth the money you spent on it. Booking thrue the internet in advance wil save you money. Prices start at 80 up to 999$ (penthouse). Bit even the most cheapest one a nice

Lovely stay for the first time in Vegas Feb 02, 2009
When there are 4 girls in a room, it comes out to a pretty good deal. The MGM Grand is right on the strip, near the end, but when one goes, they MUST stay on the Strip...although the Wynn is up now.
The buffet was good, we had access or short cab rides to other hotels and clubs. When you go, you just have to look at all your options and what you're going to Vegas for. The MGM should be considered for lodging without any complaints from me. |

Eveything from lodging, to shopping, to nightlife all in one place! Jan 15, 2009
I took my first trip to Las Vegas last year and I went with two friends. We stayed at the MGM Grand Casino and Hotel and this place was gorgeous beyond words. We stayed in a very nice room, with two King sized beds, a mini fridge, nice sized bathroom and we had a view of "New York, New York." It was beautiful. The rooms were all upstairs, then downstairs was the casino, shopping stores, nightclubs, bars and lounges. Studio 54 was amazing! The music was good, and the crowd was diverse.
If you're planning on going to Vegas, I would definitely recommend the MGM Grand. Another good thing about it is the location. It's right near the Hooters, The Luxor, "Paris, France" and the strip. |

Excellent Stay! Would definitely recommend! Nov 16, 2008
I just got back a couple days ago from my most recent trip to Las Vegas. I stayed at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino and was quite pleased! From the moment I arrived, the staff were all courteous, friendly, and accomodating. They allowed me to check in early (I arrived around 9am)...I only had to wait about 45 minutes as the room was being cleaned - which was fine as it allowed me to get some breakfast. The bell desk held on to my luggage during that time. I stayed in the West Wing and the room was amazing. The bed and feather pillows were so comfortable! The casino area is huge, but there are many signs directing you to where you want to go. I highly recommend the Lion Habitat which is free to view. There is a direct walkway to the Tropicana and another to New York New York. In addition the MGM is the first stop on the monorail so you are easily able to access all of the other casinos in the area. Yes, the souvenirs and food are a bit pricey, but you will get that at any hotel/casino in the area. I would recommend this place to anyone.

MGM still a GRAND hotel Aug 01, 2008
We are Las Vegans and were going to Craig Ferguson's Standup Comedy at the Hollywood Theater at the MGM Grand and decided to spend the night at the MGM Grand. We did get a great deal, $89 + room tax, which included a $35 food/entertainment credit. Not bad at all.
At checkin the room I requested, with a king bed, was not available, and they offered me a complimentary upgrade to the West Wing, but we decided against it and stayed in the Grand Tower with 2 Queen beds. The room was beautiful, the amenties great. The last time I stayed at the MGM Grand was in 1997 and I was concerned that it might have deteriorated, but I was not disappointed. We ate at one of the restaurants before the show, and it was okay, nothing to write home about. We shared a front row table at Craig's show with some friends. The Hollywood Theater is very nicely furnished, however, I thought it was kind of cramped. Luckily we were sharing the table with friends. Craig's show was fantastic as always and if you get the chance to see him do his standup, you will not be disappointed. Considering the MGM Grand has over 5000 rooms, everything from check in to check out (on the in room TV) was flawless. Valet parking and pickup was very, very efficient considering the amount of traffic that goes through there. I would definitely stay here again. |

Great service right on the strip Jul 07, 2008
This is kind of luck of the draw when staying in Vegas, but both times I stayed at the MGM Grand, I was upgraded to much nicer rooms for the cost of a basic room. The first time I was arriving an odd hour (about 2 am) due to the flight that I came in on. In this case, you know that they were just giving away unrented rooms, so it didn't hurt them to upgrade ... but I wasn't complaining. This room had a massive bathroom with both a stand-up shower and a separate two person Jacuzzi. The second time I stayed here, I had just gotten back from rafting down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. This time they upgraded me to a suite! This place had three separate rooms including a dining area with a chandelier! The bathroom made the previous one look like a closet. It had a Jacuzzi that could easily sit 8. You could swim from one side to the other. And there was a television in the bathroom! From the rafting trip, I was the dirtiest I had ever been in my life, so it was a very nice treat to get cleaned up and live in luxury after sleeping in the Grand Canyon. While you may not get as lucky with the upgrades, I'm sure all of their rooms are nice. Service is excellent, and the hotel is located right on the strip. There are also many restaurants to choose from right in the hotel.

Expected more Mar 20, 2008
For claiming to be one of the biggest hotels in the world, it felt a lot smaller than some of its neighbors (PH, Caesar's Palace, Bellagio)...though perhaps it's because the MGM Grand has more rooms and less "to do" places downstairs. But then again...that's what everyone in Vegas is looking for, right? Something fun to do! And the rooms, in comparison, are nothing to brag about. I thought my room at the Monte Carlo during my previous visit was much nicer (it was also much cheaper).
Its casino just didn't have a good vibe, at least compared to others I visited and played at (Riviera, Fitzgerald's, Bally's). And the non-"bust your wallet" restaurant selections were slim. It wasn't a problem as there are thousands of places to eat at your doorstep if you're staying on the strip. I will say I was surprised to find that parking was free here...for guests or non-guests (unless I unknowingly managed to find a secret exit from the garage???). And the fact that the bell desk delivers your stored luggage to the curb and allows you to cut to the front of the taxi line (which can be quite long, I noticed) is a definite bonus...though I did feel a bit guilty about making use of that service (no eye contact with those already waiting in line is key). This is my second time here, but after giving it a second chance, I see that I got the same as what I got last time...and from experience, I know I can get more for my money at other places. I just got back from Superbowl in Vegas and it’s always a great time. I’ve been doing this for years with friends, meeting up from various corners of the country for lots of fun! The past few years we have been solidly set up at the MGM Grand. Personally, I stay there because I like the convenience and since I am usually the one who ends up waking at the crack of dawn to go secure our spots in the sports book. The sports book isn’t that big, but I really love the “wall of doom” (what I call the wall of odds tickers and TVs.) However, the MGM also has some great restaurants, clubs and bars. I enjoy their poker room as well. The rooms are also very nice and clean and I love the green glow at night from the external neon. I recommend the MGM a lot for a good balance of nice quality without being at the top of the price market. It is expensive, but I would consider them average price for the strip.

So after 10 hours of driving (a bit of an exaggeration here) we get to our hotel, The MGM Grand. I had stayed there previously and liked it, so decided to stay there again. It took us about 20 minutes to check in. It was really quick. The clerk “upgraded” our room to the Celebrity Suite since the room I had reserved… It's pool time! |
