M&M's World London Reviews
4 floors of fun! Sep 24, 2016
M&M's is the biggest selling chocolate brand in the world. No chocolate fan should miss M&M’s World, an attraction located on the heart of Leicester Square, London. It lately became a must-visit-place along with Big Ben, Tower Bridge and London Eye. London's is the only M&M's World in Europe and the largest candy store in the world. It is also possibly London’s sweetest attraction.
The store is spread across 4 floors. The majority of the store is taken up by rather expensive merchandise, clothes, soft toys, limited editions sweets, seasonal items and M&M characters in all shapes and sizes.
Of course, you can actually buy M&M’s here as well. They are sold in small packages or as a pick n' mix option. The pick n' mix walls are huge tubes filled with sweets in all the colours (even in gray) but only in four flavours.
Visitors get also the opportunity to meet the well-known M&M characters and have their photo taken with them. As well as with an iconic London Bus from the 1960’s. The staff greets you and makes sure that you have a nice time in M&M’s World. The atmosphere in the store is a bit Disney-like. I think that M&M’s World tries to compete with Disney Store which is few minutes of walk from the chocolate shop. Both are quite nice places to pass cold, rainy and miserable days in London.
The first thing I noticed was the smell. At first it is pleasant and sweet, but after few minutes it becomes too sweet and you start to feel sick of it The second thing I noticed was only few children were here. The majority of customers appear to be adults. I can imagine parents spending a small fortune here, if they would come with kids. I also think this place is mostly focused on tourists, not Londoners.
I’m not sure what brings people to this store. Do people like the taste of the chocolate and peanuts? Certainly they do. Does all of them shop here? No. I didn’t. I think, M&M’s World is more of a tourist attraction than a store itself.
