I love the pyramid theme. Great view. Jan 18, 2016
I stayed here for several nights, and really liked it. It's at the very end of the strip so it is a bit far from some of the other hotels, but the great thing is that they have trams, and indoor walkways that move you throughout several different hotels. Some of the hotels connect to each other. I also really liked the shops that they had at the Luxor. I did a lot of shopping during my stay. From my room, I had a great view of the pyramid which at night has the brightest light that shoots up into the sky. I thought it had a great theme, and loved the beautiful view. The price is pretty reasonable, and the rooms are clean. It's not a luxury hotel, but I thought it was nice to stay at, and would definitely stay there again.

Great Location, Great Price - Needs a Revamp Aug 31, 2014
I've stayed at the Luxor on two occasions. The first time was the year it first opened. At the time the "new" Vegas was emerging and it was exciting. The fast moving elevators were scary and exciting and I can't tell you how many times I got lost.

I stayed again recently because I needed a quick room for the night and the price was right. The elevators are still fun but my non-smoking room smelled of smoke. The bed was so so as was the decor. I am not one to care too much about a hotels style but I think that overall it could use a revamp. Also, the fact that I've been to Egypt AND to Luxor leaves me rolling my eyes at the kitschy decor.

The casino was fine and the staff was friendly. I wish I had time to see "The Bodies" exhibit. I'll definitely be back but not so sure to stay.
View from the 24th floor.

Womp Womp!!! Much better options available! Jan 18, 2013
The Luxor was not at all up to the standard I was expecting! I don't know maybe we got shafted with not the best room or something[because I do know there are different towers/ suites]. I had visited a room in the Luxor a few years back, I remember thinking it was quite nice. This hotel/ casino was filled with sketch people throughout! Some random girl tried to fight me and my friend during our first night here, simply minding our own business. We continuously encountered weirdos for the entire duration of our stay there. I truly regret that we ended up with this hotel; we thought we were getting a good deal, since hotels are crazy expensive during NYE. But honestly the few amount we saved was not worth it at all. There are way much nicer hotels/ better atmosphere in MUCH BETTER locations on the strip to choose from within the same price range. I really think the Luxor has downgraded within the last few years imo.....

Positives:

- I can't even think of much that would make it stand out from other hotels...

- I guess the pyramid structure is kinda cool?

- ..... ohh and they give you a booklet with lots of discounts/coupons when you check-in

Negatives:

- DAILY RESORT FEES COLLECTED UPON CHECK-IN

- Room was sooo small/ tiny beds didn't seem like Queen size to me

- Bathroom was quite small as well in terms of Vegas standards

- It is on the southern side of the strip; very far away from all the action

Luxor isn't the worst hotel in Vegas but it just lags behind. Its cool to check out during the daytime but not to actually stay there! Its way too far on the strip for the amount of $$ they are charging. I would only recommend people stay here if they got a ridiculously unbelievably cheap price!

Visit Luxor but don't sleep in their beds Jan 13, 2013
I used to live in Vegas and I have stayed at the Luxor twice. I will be honest. I am a bit of a hotel snob. If you are on a very limited budget and plan on drinking on the strip during your whole stay. You are basically looking for a place to show and sleep a few hours. Then Luxor will fit the bill. The rooms smell like smoke and its outdated. The positive thing about the Luxor are that is has quite a few places that are cool to visit inside of it. For clubs and lounges, I would visit 'The Cat House and LAX." The Titanic and Bodies exhibit are also entertaining. Do not waste your time getting sucked into a Tahiti village tour.

great shows and buffet Jan 02, 2013
This was my first time watching any shows in Vegas. The shows are generally expensive, especially during the holiday season, but I thought it was money well spent. As an M Life member (free!), you can sometimes get discounts on certain shows. There was an all day buffet deal going on for $35/person at both Luxor and Excalibur, which I thought was very reasonable, especially if you're gonna be spending most of your day gambling at either one of the two casinos. I found the dining environment a little better at Luxor, although Excalibur seemed to have a little more variety. Just like Excalibur, Luxor also offers free daily lessons for blackjack, craps, and roulette.

Luxurious Stay Jul 26, 2012
I had an all around amazing stay at Luxor. The staff was extremely friends and helpful, the food was amazing and we had so much fun!

When traveling to Vegas, I suggest staying at Luxor. First off, it is extremely inexpensive compared to the other properties on the strip and you do not miss out on the best of Vegas. While there, we ate at Tacos and Tequila and it was great. I ate the Carne Asada tacos and they were unreal. I also HIGHLY recommend Rice & Co. Especially if you like Sushi. It was so great the Chef does a wonderful job.

While you are at Luxor.. DO EVERYTHING! The exhibits Bodies and Titanic are so worth the money. Bodies is just mind blowing and Titanic is such a deep experience (no pun intended). The Criss Angel show is a must see as well. He is so entertaining and engaging its fun.

LAX was a blast and by far one of my favorite clubs in Vegas. They have the best music a mix of house with other popular music so it isn't the same as all the other clubs. The crowd is great, the staff was a blast, plus the do Star Wars bottle service. :)

Definitely check out Luxor they always have deals going on too so just check their site.

Great Experience at the Luxor Jul 24, 2012
Had a great time at the Luxor. The rooms were super nice and over looked the pool. Tacos and Tequilas has the best guacamole. Rice and Co has amazing sushi. We also had a chance to go to Titanic and the Bodies exhibit. Both were out of this world with great artifacts and displays. LAX is the place to be for nightlife. In the middle of the night, darth vader came out and served the DJ a bottle, it was hilarious. Criss Angel is mind-blowing. I still want to know how he cut that girl in half. Highly recommend the Luxor for anyone going on vacation to Vegas.

Affordable hotel on the strip! Nov 28, 2012
We just got back from Las Vegas today; we went out for my mom’s B-Day and had a great time! The Luxor hotel is a great hotel with a nice theme and close to other great hotels, Like the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur. You can either take the free tram that goes between the three or you can walk. There are signs that guide you to the Mandalay Shopping center and then the Excalibur. The hotel was decorated for the holidays which were nice to see. Garlands, wreaths, and trees spread throughout the hotel. Check in was slow compared to how many people were working the registration area. You do have to pay a resort fee upon completing registration which includes, Wi –Fi, phone access, access to the gym and you get two complimentary drink tickets with a small coupon book. I believe they are valid at all MGM hotels INC. We stayed in the Pyramid section of the hotel. The hotel also offers two towers of rooms. The pyramid section was pretty cool. Once you get off the slanted elevator ride the floors overlook the lobby of the hotel. The higher you go the more cool it looks. Depending on if you are afraid of heights. The rooms were average, they are an Egyptian theme. There are no, coffee makers, fridges, and safes. They had an armoire instead of a closet. The rooms were pretty big with two queen beds, a big chair, a table, and a small table by the window. The bathroom was also pretty average. The hotel features a small food court on the second floor, which includes Original Chicken Tender Company, McDonalds, Starbucks, Bonanno's Pizzeria, Nathan's and LA Subs. It seems like customer service at these places isn’t valued. McDonalds is pretty unorganized and the staff seem like they don’t have a care in the world if your order is messed up, and if you go to them about it. They roll their eyes and throw a fit. The Chicken Tender Company is VERY slow. The gal at the register couldn’t make my brothers sandwich so we had to wait 15 extra minutes for the cook to come and cooking the damn thing took another 5-8 minutes. The pizza place has nice staff and good pizza. The shops at the Luxor are pretty basic, you have your gift shops for the shows, a sundry shop and a few clothing and perfume places. The Luxor pool was closed due to renovations. We didn’t eat at the restaurants but we heard great things about them. Overall this hotel is a cheap place to stay on the strip, but could use some improvements.

Wonderful Stay Oct 06, 2012
I think if you stay in any of the major hotels on the strip you are in for a great experience. Sin City, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas; this is the real city that never sleeps! Whatever time of the day it is, there is always something going on. This was my second time to Vegas and this time me and my three friends decided to stay in the Luxor, 1) it was cheap 2? It was in a much better location that The Stratosphere hotel and 3) I loved Egyptian themed building. You don’t really appreciate the size of the hotel until you step inside and look up, its huge, but then again so are all the hotels in Vegas, especially the MGM just across the street.

The Luxor has a monorail that connects Mandalay Bay and Excalibur, all three hotels are well connected actually as there is a walkway between them to, the walkway carries on over to New York, New York. There is never a dull moment in Vegas. The Luxor has many great bars and restaurants, but one of my highlights was the LAX nightclub where we saw Mike Tyson, in fact we saw him twice that night, first in LAX then in Pure in Casers Palace. But LAX is everything a super club in Vegas is supposed to be, its huge, great DJ’s, tight security and of course over priced drinks! The best thing for us is when we left the club in the wee hours of the morning; we only had a short walk back to our rooms, result!

I would defiantly stay here again and would recommend to anybody, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were huge and spacious, and we weren’t in the pyramid section but the newer twin tower area. The hotel was so big you could easily get lost in there. The food in the Luxor was good, but not great, they have a great bar overlooking the casino floor which we spent many hours over the course of the week. Overall experience, an excellent one, can’t wait to go back one day, to Vegas, what a crazy but wonderful city!

Something a little different.... Jun 17, 2011
We chose to stay at the Luxor this time round because we wanted something a little different. We liked the idea of staying in a pyramid and even in a place like Las Vegas the pyramid shape of the Luxor is indeed a little different.

As it turned out we didn’t actually get to stay in the pyramid itself. We had booked two ‘Pyramid Deluxe’ rooms and had asked for two adjacent rooms as we were travelling with our two sons. The best they could offer as we checked in was one room on the third floor and one on the eleventh. Consequently we were upgraded to two ‘Tower Deluxe’ rooms in the East tower adjoining the pyramid. The Egyptian themed rooms were everything you would expect from a Las Vegas hotel. Spacious and comfortable with a large TV and generous bathroom. There are no safes in the rooms but safety deposit boxes can be hired from reception. Also, as with most hotels in the US no breakfast is included.

Our rooms were at the rear of the hotel so no strip view, but we had a decent view of the desert hills that surround Vegas. The downside of being in the tower is that it is a bit of a trek from the main body of the building where the reception, casino, restaurants, bars and cafes are located.

The Luxor is located at the far end of the strip opposite the airport, with only Mandalay Bay being further south. This meant quite a trip to get to anywhere. If you choose to walk you can take the indoor travelators that link the Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur Hotels. There is also the option of a free monorail service that also links those hotels together. To get further down the strip from there you can take the public monorail or the bus. We had hired a car so we drove to most places when were travelling any distance down the strip, but even this can be time consuming due to the volumes of traffic. All hotel car parks are free incidentally if you choose to self park.

Inside the Luxor pyramid is a self contained ‘city’. No less than three Starbucks, a fast food court, several bars, restaurants, and general stores and shops all mean plenty of choice. As well as this there are a number of resident shows and the fascinating and recommended exhibitions of ‘Titanic’ and ‘Bodies’. The rooms in the pyramid itself are all situated on the perimeter of the building in ever decreasing numbers the higher you go. Each floor has a balcony walkway leading to the rooms, all overlooking the interior of the pyramid. The pyramid rooms are reached by ‘inclinators’ which are elevators that travel at an angle up each corner of the pyramid. Quite a weird sensation actually.

The gym is adequate (although no rowing machine, my favourite piece of kit) with a view overlooking the pools. Talking of pools, there are three which got crowded at weekends but were quiet enough during the week.

Overall, there is a sense of wonder as you walk through the doors and see the pyramid interior for the first time. The scale of interior space is quite spectacular and it certainly fulfils the brief if you are looking for something a little different. The rooms and amenities are good but the location is definitely a bit of an issue.

Comfy beds, good maid service

Again shame the internet is a wired connection as their is only one. Prices my friend tells me were reasonable. Only thing i really disliked about the hotel is that the walk ways on the hallways where the rooms are have no barriers, so its pretty scary if you peer over as its a sheer 100ft drop. I would have thought they would have had a safety feature here. Even though its been re-modelled and the new owners took away some Egyptian factor it still cant be mistaken for anything else. The exhibits and the nightclub were great and i would defo stay here again. Cocktails were blended which was great, made them go down easier :-)

The Luxor Las Vegas Mar 11, 2011
Impressed with The Luxor in Vegas. Spa and Fitness Center were NICE. Free fruit, water, snacks in the Spa. State of the art equipment in the Fitness Center. Soft beds and good size bathrooms in your room, decent view. Great sportsbook betting area in the casino. Definitely a CHEAP option for a bachelor pad hotel to say the least.

Pretty average May 11, 2011
The Luxor was a decent place for me to stay on several occasions when I just wanted to get to Vegas and not waste a lot of money. More often than not, though, my stays there were comped, which made the decision easier. The hotel is quite average; the jokes about it are true. It's really not a hot spot anymore so make sure you get a really good deal.

First of all, it's out of the way. Mandalay Bay next door is nice but if you get bored easily, that's all you'll have to do without heading all the way up the Strip.

The rooms are just OK. Avoid the pyramid rooms like the plague; the shape of them is dysfunctional, especially if you're tall, and I've seen some gross stuff in a few of those pyramid rooms. The Tower rooms are much nicer, although the furnishings are somewhat dated, as are the TVs in many of them. The bed in any of the rooms hasn't been as comfortable as I would have liked.

The basic overview here is that if you want a reasonable place to stay in Vegas without stooping to a motel, then Luxor is fine. But if you've been to Vegas before or want the full party experience, I'd look elsewhere. Whenever I've looked to book this hotel and pay, the prices always seem inflated anyway.

Bummer that you don't think to highly of Luxor. I seriously had the best experience there. Being 22, I realized the demographic was a bit older not much, but we stayed and has a blast. LAX is still going strong and a great party spot. Plus the food there was amazing which is my favorite part of any vacation! As for the dated rooms, I mean the hotel is a little aged but it was also built in the 90s so I give them a break! I hope you have a better experience next time because I loved Luxor!

That Huge Pyramid Aug 24, 2011
This is a solid pick my travel friends! I'm in and out of Vegas alot since it's just an hour flight away from home and I stayed at the Luxor in Las Vegas for a guys weekend getaway and was very impressed with the overall condition of the room! The value was great..$40! The location is right on the strip. The room is super clean and spacey for 3-4 people. The amenities of the hotel are kind of spread apart..the fitness center is a little walk and so are the shops but it's not too bad. The bed was GOOD not GREAT. The bathroom is a pretty good size with a shower and tub. The service was solid. I recommend this place if your on a tight budget! Very nice!

Luxar jacuzzi room Apr 26, 2011
The Luxor has a very nice jacuzzi room that sits elevated under the window. It is located in the bedroom so it makes from going straight from the jacuzzi to bed very easy. After drying off of course! lol The room also has a seperate sitting area with a couch and second tv. If you walk the strip a lot and usually have sore feet or hips check this room out. Some of the other casinos have jacuzzi rooms but not for this price.

Very old decor, disappointing accommodation overall Feb 19, 2011
Had booked my Mum and Stepdad into the Luxor for a week; with them arriving from Ireland a couple of days before us. I booked them into a superior room and it was just deplorable. The wallpaper was stained as well as peeling, the carpet was very unclean, non-smoking rooms smelled of smoke. I asked for a change in rooms for all of us, which was eventually granted. Restaurants were okay and exhibits were good. But would never stay here again nor recommend this hotel for an expected 'great hotel experience'.

There are better, for equal price. Jan 12, 2010
Ok so this was my experience in a nutshell.

I called a week before, asking if they had adjoining rooms. They said yes, no problem, they would make sure the two rooms I booked would be side by side. I show up..nope.. had to beg for a room on the same floor after being ignored for about 20 minutes and not told why.

Room was okay. Nice view of Excalibur, but nothing spectacular. Elevators were supposed to be SO COOL cause they went sideways, but nope...more like being in a milkshake and when hungover, this is not fun. Best part about it was the Pyramid Cafe on the main floor. Good 4am pizza and breakfast wrap...Location kind of sucked...so far from everything. Next time, I would probably go to Planet Hollywood. Younger Crowd and more updated. Luxor smelled greasy. Not terrible, but not worth all that cash!

Exciting and Fun Property to be in Mar 20, 2010
The last time I was in Las Vegas I stayed here at the Luxor. It is a very nice property with exceptional service. I really like the lay out and had a wonderful stay. I was comfortable and had a fun filled experience.

My room was great. I felt like I was living large. The buffet is one of the best I've had with an assortment of flavors.

My brother and his family was staying at nearby Excaliber but I found it a challenge to leave the hotel to meet with them at times.

The theme is very appealing and the light from the top of the pyramid was breathtaking. The pool area was really nice and quite, a great break from the noise of the casinos.

This will be among my first choice on my next stay in Las Vegas.

Overwhelming hotel Dec 20, 2010
Big hotel, amazing to see. Has all the needs you can imagine. The rooms looking quite old, but the outside/shopping/dining area are like brandnew. Comfy beds, the Spa Suite is recommended, not very expensive and from the yacuzzi you can see the amazing lights of Vegas.

Location is pretty good, near 'centre'.

With all of the new hotels on the strip, this place comes off as a dump! It was "the place" in it's day but is really showing it's age. Don't get me wrong, the pyramid structure and the elevator system are cool but this place needs a major overhaul.
