Luton Vacation Guide
Luton is the biggest town in the county of Bedfordshire, which is 45km north-west of central London. Luton had a big straw industry back hundred's of years ago but now the main industry seems to be the local airport. Vauxhall, the car maker is also based here, but the car industry in the town is now folding which leaves hundreds of local people out of work. Luton has a big town centre with the main Arndale shopping centre based here.
The main football club is Luton Town, which was once a big football club in the 1980's but now faces to be kicked out of the English football league (April 2009). Other attractions nearby are Whipsnade Zoo, Luton Hoo and the Dunstable Downs countryside.
Luton Airport is London's forth major airport after Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted, and is the major hub for Easyjet airlines, with Ryanair, Monach, and WizzAir also fly out of here. The airport is easy to get too, by train (with a shuttle bus service) from Luton Airport Parkway train station, 1.6km down the hill (the airport is based on top of a high hill overlooking the town of Luton), and coaches leave here for central London and connects to the other airports in the London Region. Luton Airport is also easy to get oo by car, off Junction 10A of the M1.

Squeezed my way down to the front at the departure gate and got onto the first bus to the plane and grabbed a seat by the window.
