Luray is a quite town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountain's about an hour and a half drive outside of DC.
Although it still retains all the small town charms, Luray has recently experienced a renaissance of sorts. Casual espresso cafes, fine dining restaurants and fashionable antique stores now reside comfortably alongside home cooking style diners and weekend farmers markets. The Valley itself offers plenty in the way of activities. Many visitors flock to the area during the fall for the change of season leaf display. The local caverns are open for tours all year round. The Shenandoah National Park is headquartered in Luray and the Shenandoah is a perfect river for lazy day canoeing and fishing.

We got there rather late in the day and just made it to the 3:30 snake show. Yipes!...

It was very pretty and my favorite stop was at a visitor center (I don't remember which one) were everyone was out taking pictures of the valley. So I stopped to take a picture of the valley. It was a little hazy, so I wasn't expecting the best picture. As I walked up from the edge to the visitor center, I turned to look back one more time. Hi All,
Dave and I wanted to have you share in our trip this year as we travel. As I am new to this I have a feeling that there will be a learning curve. Will try to have some timely updates and photos. WELL, so much for timely updates. LOL We don't seem to be in WI FI world as much as I would like. Hang in there, I will keep adding at least where we have been.
Enjoy with us!
