Lunar New Year Firework Display Kowloon Reviews
Awesome display and extravaganza Jan 24, 2012
Every year, hundreds of thousands of people line both sides of iconic Victoria Harbour on the Second Day of Chinese New Year to witness Hong Kong celebrating the Chinese New Year with an astounding pyrotechnic display. It was one of the things that were a must for my visit in Hong Kong.
I gave up to reach the harbor area from the Kowloon side and I decided therefore to take the metro to the Hong Kong Island side. I took the metro 20 minutes before the display was to take off. I walked towards the harbor from the Central Station together with thousands of others and you could almost feel the tension in the air.
I found a place in the middle of a construction site from where I at least had a clear view of the sky. The weather was not the best for fireworks; it was a bit cloudy and there was constantly rain in the air. The display started at 8 pm sharp and the noise was amazing. The sky just lit up in an amazing display and it continued for an amazing 25 minutes. Especially the last 5 minutes was really powerful, so it was a great finale
