Everyone has heard of the Luftwaffe so there is no need for introducing it. This Partially Open Air , Partially Indoor Museum contains huge amounts of airplanes from many different nationalities (including the Luftwaffe off course), airplane parts , heaps of history (mostly german , but a little in English inside the Hangar3)
People that are interested in planes and the history of Airborne Warfare and exploration can easily spend days here, while people not really interested in airplanes will walk through the the most interesting part of the exhibition in two hours.
The museum is located at Gatow Airport (Flugplatz Gatow) , which is a little hard to get to as its located out in Spandau which located 10km from the Bahnhof Zoo. Take the S-Bahn to Spandau , then walk onto the buss station and look for the Bus 135 (two to three an hour), then the bus ride will take around 20mins to Seekorso. With a 20min walk each way from the bus stop you really need to like planes to pay this place a visit as its takes an hour to get here from Eastern Berlin. The streets from the Bus Stop to the Museum all have strange names , from Amelia Earhart Strasse (the first female to make an trans-Atlantic flight) to many other famous people.
