Lucky Mother Bugalows, Chaweng Beach, Koh Samui Feb 01, 2009
The Lucky Mother Bungalows are located in Chaweng Bay, right in the heart of it all. Literally ON THE BEACH, a 5 minute walk down from Ark Bar/Green Mango/Solo bar etc! Location wise, could not ask for more. If its something central your after, look no further!!!!
Room wise, they have a bit of a range, depending on your budget. The wooden huts on the beach are the best price wise, around 300BHT per night, but to be honest, they are pretty poor. The one we looked at had a hole in the floor, a cat under the bed, and the windows were hanging off. Next ones up are beach bungalows, just a few steps back from the beach. These are concrete, with a little terrace, and are fab, this is what we went for. Fan in the rooms, quite a nice bathroom, bed was rock hard though, but for 500BHT a night, totally worth it!!!! They also have hotel rooms in a seperate block, with all the typical hotel facilities like air con, tv in the room etc. But to be honest, your in Thailand, why would you want to sit in a room watching foreign tv shows!?!?!?!? The hotel has a cute little restaurant right on the beach as well, which was fab for breakfast and very reasonable. Lady at reception is a bit rude to be fair, anyone who's been will vouch for this....out loo got blocked and she wanted ME to sort it out...not happening. Also, they seem to have quite a few pets (dogs and cats) that wander around, which was a little bizzare! I had a fab stay at the Lucky Mother (considering we only went there cos of the name lol) and i would definitly go back and would reccommend!!! |

A REAL NIGHTMARE Jun 02, 2009
We are a french couple with a 2 year old boy who HAD to spend 2 nights in Ko Samui in order to take our flight back to Bangkok.
First advice: if you don't have to, don't go to Ko Samui, it is by far the worst thai island we have been to, totally over constructed and the beaches (Chawend in particular are ugly and littered). Concerning this miserable LUCKY MOTHER place, there would be so much to say (just read the above comment which is the absolute truth). I will just explain that the "lady" manager of this place spilled on our 2 year old boy's face the ice shake we had ordered and refused (because it tasted horrible with rotten fruits). One of the cooks came with a knife to try to force us to pay. We had to scream for someone to call the police. These people are totally mad. We have NEVER experienced someting like that during our life and we travel a lot. Our little boy was profoundly shocked and screamed for half an hour. AVOID THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. We just had a look at the bungalows before ordering this shake and should have understood that when you offer nightmarish rooms, you should not even consider having a drink in such a place. |
