Lucky Lake Hostel Vinkeveen Reviews
Camping near Amsterdam May 27, 2004
This is a campground type hostel and is not located close to the city center. If you feel the need to be in the city quickly, this place may not be for you.
Located next to Vinkeveense Plassen (a large recreational park with a lake for boating and swimming) this campground is actually about 15KM south of Amsterdam. If you don't drive, there is an hourly shuttle service from the camp to the nearest metro into town and from there it is another 20 minutes into the city (about 30 minutes.)
There are multiple options for staying here... you can stay in a dorm, in a parked caravan or in a small cabin. This is 'roughing it' so don't expect flat screen TVs and minibars. It's comfortable though.
The washrooms and showers are shared and are located near the administration building. They were clean and well maintained.
Located as it is away from the city and even from the larger towns nearby, this camp really lets you get away from things while at the same time fully engaging in interaction with other travelers while still allowing you to get into the city with relative ease.
