New Russian Cuisine with Attitude Aug 12, 2009
I recently visited this new restaurant for a romantic dinner with my wife, it just opened and was warmly recommended by friends. The interior is in 19th century style and reminds of the glory days of the Russian Tsars. The staff is neatly dressed in classical uniforms with a contemporary touch and served us in English.
But most of all you have to go their for the food! They have a very interesting menu with home made alcoholic drinks based on berries and other typical Russian products such as horseradish, their version of the "Olivier" salad with smoked fish is to die for and the rabit with beetroot and apple pie is just amazing finally the pancakes flambé skilfully, performed at the table, just swept us of our feet! A group in the back had a traditional tea ceremony with mountains of delicious salts and sweets. When we go back with friends we will have that as well! Defintely worthwile and an unforgettable culinary experience. If you want to find out what Russian cuisine is all about this is the new place to be! |
